Purpose

The purpose of The Equine Academy

The purpose of The Equine Academy is to offer courses/educations at a high level within areas such as the functional anatomy of the horse, biomechanics, therapy, etc.

Through that the academy wishes to impart the students to an interconnected knowledge about the subjects they choose to ecudate themselves within.

The educations will be at a very high level so that the students are equipped with an allround knowledge when they graduate. It is possible to be educated on different levels, both as an equine therapist and as a horse therapist. 

All of the levels will be finalized with written examinations as well as oral and practial examinations. This asserts for both the education as an equine massage therapist as well as the education as a equine therapist. At the exams an extern censor will be present  

Regularly through the courses there will be be assignments and thesises to be handed in. Moreover the students will have to make personal experiences in practical therapy and must through the courses massage between 125 - 200 horses.

A diploma will be handed out when each course/education has been passed. 

 

The purpose of the education:  

To provide a wide foundation of theoretical and practical knowledge to students who already have some experience with horses.

The eductions are of modular structure which means that you can combine your education according to the time and needs you have.

Terms of admission:   

To be able to study at The Equine Academy you must be no younger than 16 years old.

You must enjoy working with horses and people.

There are no formal competencies you must posses in order to enroll.

Students shoud have som experience with handling of horses. Either achieved by having your own horse, by working with horses, by riding regularly or by assisting in a stable. If you do not have any of these experiences you have to start your education with the course called: Basic Course Horse

 

The education:  

The courses will be lectured by skilled instructors

If necessary specialists will be called in to provide lectures. 

There will regularly be assignments to hand in which will display the student's abilities within each area.

For every course passed a diploma will be handed out.

To become a certified equine massage therapist or equine therapist the students must pass an exam that consists of an oral and a written part. An extern censor will be present at the examinations.
